Chamber introduction

Moisture and temperature, held within defined limits.

The ISOTECH Temperature Humidity Chamber is intended for tests in which the sample environment must maintain controlled temperature and relative humidity.

The published design priorities are safety, reliability, operational ease and ergonomics. ISOTECH also describes ongoing liaison with researchers as part of its chamber-development process.

The current page references IEC, IS and IS-9000 requirements. Confirm the exact method, sensor arrangement and selected performance configuration during technical review.

Specification contextThe main-feature list publishes 125 L to 3000 L and 10% to 98% RH. The ITHTC model row publishes 125 L to 5000 L and 10% to 97% RH.

Construction / chamber bodyISOTECH Humidity Chamber construction view
Chamber construction

A sealed workspace built around moisture control.

The chamber body combines corrosion-resistant interior surfaces, insulated external panels and sealed observation access.

01

Interior test space

Non-frost, vapour- and air-tight construction using 16 or 18 SWG, 304-grade stainless steel with adjustable and removable shelving.

02

External structure

Outer construction is available in 16 or 18 SWG CRCA, GI or stainless steel with electrostatic super-fine powder-coat finishing.

03

Insulation

Asbestos-free and CFC-free mineral-fibre insulation supports thermal retention and helps limit operating loss.

04

Door and gasket

A right-hinged front-opening single door uses double-lined grade-A silicone gaskets on the door and chamber body.

05

Viewing window

The multi-pane viewing window includes defogging heaters with automatic cut-off and illumination for observing the specimen.

06

Ports, shelves and drainage

Left- or right-side cable ports with rubber plugs accept measurement and auxiliary connections. Shelves and drain outlet fittings are supplied according to specification.

Conditioning architecture

Four systems regulate the test atmosphere.

Airflow, heating, steam humidification and refrigeration-based dehumidification coordinate temperature and RH.

Air circulation

A suitably sized fan motor and impeller distribute conditioned air to maintain the desired limits.

  • Impeller exposed inside the conditioning plenum
  • Drive motor remains outside the chamber
  • Detachable plenum cover supports maintenance
  • Published noise level below 70 dB

Heating system

Quick-response jacket-type air heaters bring the test space toward the programmed temperature.

  • Heater arrangement supports uniform distribution
  • No direct heater radiation onto the specimen
  • Reduced variation across multiple test items
  • Compatible with programmed profile operation

Humidification

Direct-vaporisation humidification introduces low-pressure steam vapour to establish the required moisture condition.

  • Humidity reservoir supports steam generation
  • Automatic float switch maintains water level
  • Continuous water supply supports the humidity tank
  • Designed for programmed RH conditions

Dehumidification & cooling

Refrigeration-based dehumidification controls lower RH and helps reduce condensation on the specimen.

  • Water- or air-cooled single-stage or cascade refrigeration
  • Hermetic or boosted semi-sealed compressor options
  • Electronic expansion valve and plate-fin cooler
  • R404A and R23 refrigerants listed in the current specification
  • Suction and head/discharge pressure measurement
  • HP/LP cut-off and oil-return separation
Instrumentation system

Programme, observe and record temperature-RH profiles.

The large-screen programmable controller provides TFT LCD touch and key input, programme-pattern graphics, test-history trends and cyclic ramp-and-soak segments.

01 / Programming

Profiles and cycles

Multiple programmes and profile segments support ramp, soak and cyclic conditioning.

02 / Communication

Connected operation

High-speed RS-232/485 ports, networking and USB communications support hardware connection and downloads.

03 / Continuity

Recovery and access

Power-failure recovery and password protection support controlled chamber operation.

04 / Measurement

PT100 and RH sensing

A PT100 sensor measures temperature and a high-precision RH sensor measures humidity. The continuously wetted sensing method is described as supporting self-cleaning and longer service life.

Safety devices

Dedicated protection for chamber operation.

Each functional electrical circuit has its own safety facility, capable of stopping the affected circuit or the entire chamber during a malfunction.

Emergency stop switch
Control-circuit overcurrent protection
Thermal fuse and adjustable temperature cut-out
Chamber door limit switch
Independent functional-circuit safety
High- and low-pressure refrigeration cut-off
